Aug 18, 2021Former Kansas HS Athletic Trainer Gets 2 Months in Jail
A former Junction City (KS) High School athletic trainer was sentenced to 32 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections, but it was suspended.
Brandon M. Martino was placed on probation for 36 months after he immediately serves 60 days in the Geary County Detention Center, according to a report from the Junction City Post.
He received this sentence after entering a no-contest plea in July and was found guilty of one felony count of Sexual Exploitation of a Child. According to court documents, Martino sent a female student-athlete from the high school, who was under 18 at the time, sexually explicit text messages — including nude photos and videos of himself.
The Kansas Board of Healing Arts reported in July that they had indefinitely suspended Martin’s license, in addition to being immediately suspended from all school duties.
