Jul 29, 2015Olivet Athletic Trainer Named Interim Athletic Director
Ryan Shockey, Head Athletic Trainer at Olivet College, has been named Interim Athletic Director, and he plans to do both jobs at once. The Battle Creek Enquirer reported that Shockey will fill in while the department searches to replace both its former athletic director and assistant athletic director.
“Ryan has a strong background in intercollegiate athletics, and is highly regarded by our athletic staff, student-athletes and other members of our campus community,” Steven M. Corey, Olivet College President, said in a news release. “Ryan agreed to serve in this interim capacity for the next several months, holding the primary responsibility of athletic department leadership. He will work closely with me and the athletic coaching staff preparing the college for our search for a regular appointment.”
Shockey has been head athletic trainer at Olivet since 2013. Prior to that, he was head athletic trainer at Trine University for six years, where he worked mostly with the football, indoor track, and baseball teams.
