Annual athletic trainer survey to examine trends, issues across sports landscape

Training & Conditioning invites athletic trainers nationwide to participate in its annual Athletic Trainers Survey, an industry initiative designed to capture real-world insights into the evolving landscape of sports and athletic training.

The survey explores the most pressing issues facing athletic trainers today, including funding and staffing shortages, student-athlete wellness, equipment and technology advancements and access to resources for trainers and athletes. By gathering feedback directly from professionals in the field, the report provides a comprehensive look at the state of high school and collegiate athletic training programs across the country.

Results from the survey will be published in the June/July 2026 issue of Training & Conditioning, offering data-driven insights that help athletic trainers, strength coaches, athletic directors and administrators better understand how their peers navigate today’s challenges. The report also serves as a valuable resource for identifying emerging opportunities and best practices in athletic training.

“Each year, this survey offers a clearer picture of what athletic trainers are experiencing on the ground within their programs,” the Training & Conditioning editorial team said. “It’s a chance to share your voice and contribute to a broader understanding of the challenges and opportunities in athletic training.”

Athletic trainers at all levels are encouraged to take part and ensure their experiences are represented in one of the most widely read reports in the athletic training industry.
