Physicals Were Fake

Several student-athletes at George Washington High School in Philadelphia, Pa., reportedly received physical examinations performed by a fake doctor in June 2016. The physicals were performed by “Dr. V. Renita Bey,” who signed the form, which included a medical license number and address.

A report from ABC6 explains that upon further checking, the medical license number doesn’t match up with any doctors in the state. The address is a row home in West Philadelphia.

“The athletic director at the school said the forms were going downtown, that the district was investigating,” a concerned parent told ABC6.

In response, the district has offered free physicals at its headquarters for students who were examined by Bey. The district also says it has put protocols in place to ensure this issue won’t happen in the future.
