Lacrosse Concussion Leads to Lawsuit

The family of Kendalle Holley, a high school student who suffered a concussion during a lacrosse game, has filed a lawsuit against the Orange (Fla.) School District, accusing them of negligence.

According to WFTV 9, Holley’s family said that she was not evaluated early on and was allowed to keep playing, resulting in her injury worsening and violating rules requiring players with signs of concussions to be removed from play. An athletic trainer was present on school grounds but not on-site at the lacrosse game.

Holley said that since she was injured, she has suffered from dizzy spells, and her grades have dropped.

“I went from like a 4.0 student to failing my tests and not being able to comprehend my (end of course exams),” Holley said.
