SU ATC Shares With Combat Medics

The Syracuse University football team is holding its preseason training camp at the Fort Drum Army Base and Tim Neal, MS, ATC, Syracuse’s Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine, is making his mark with the soldiers of the Army’s 10th Mountain Division, which is housed at the base.

According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, in addition to overseeing the medical care and training for the Orange practices, Neal has:

“held daily training sessions with 10th Mountain Division combat medics. Each class covers sports-related injuries, musculoskeletal-skeletal conditions and stretching for various injuries.”

Back in April, Neal wrote for T&C about teaching an athletic department how to recognize when an athlete is struggling with a mental health issue.
