Baylor To Build Nutrition Center

Baylor University has announced that next fall, the athletic department will complete construction on a 12,000-square-feet athlete-centered nutrition complex and dining hall. Funded by a $3 million donation, the Beauchamp Athletic Nutrition Center (BANC) will be located near both the school’s indoor football practice facility and the Simpson Strength and Conditioning area. Complete with a fuel station for healthy grab-and-go options, the BANC will be available to all Baylor student-athletes, providing athletes the opportunity to workout, practice, study, and eat in one centralized location.
Nick Joos, Executive Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs, told the Baylor Lariat that the new nutrition center will put Baylor on par with several other Big 12 athletic programs.

“It’s been talked about for a while and it is something that has been very important to all of our coaches but in particular to coach Briles, the football program, the strength and conditioning coach Kaz Kazadai,” said Joos. “The dream and vision has been there for a few years.”

“The Beauchamp Athletics Nutrition Center will be invaluable in helping our coaches recruit top prospects in all of our programs and in meeting the nutritional needs of Baylor student-athletes as they strive to reach their full potential,” Baylor Director of Athletics Ian McCaw, said in a statement on the school’s website. “Today’s best student-athletes expect the kind of comprehensive institutional support represented by such facilities as a nutrition center, and we are deeply grateful to Bob and Laura Beauchamp for their very generous contribution to make the nutrition center a reality.”
