Aug 3, 2018Comprehensive Collaboration
Moravian College is fielding a new comprehensive sports medicine team in collaboration with St. Luke’s University Health Network, the region’s largest sports medicine provider, covering more than 100,000 athletes in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
St. Luke’s and Moravian have selected John Ostrowski, MS, LAT, ATC to serve as Coordinator of Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer for Moravian College’s NCAA Division III Athletics Program. Ostrowski succeeds Bob Ward who retired from Moravian College after serving the Greyhound Athletic Program for 32 years. Ostrowski will oversee a sports medicine staff that will provide services through a fully integrated medical model.
Setting a new standard for collegiate sports medicine in the region, the team includes board-certified athletic trainers and doctoral assistant athletic trainers, as well as a rehabilitation coordinator and a certified strength coach. Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Gregory Carolan and primary care sports medicine physician Dr. Maheep Vikram of St. Luke’s Orthopedic Care will serve as the team physicians for Moravian College.
This new model allows us to further enhance the services and programs we provide to the students
