Something Different

Since being hired, Rudy Wade, Iowa State University’s new Strength and Conditioning Coach, has employed a variety of new methods to improve the school’s football team, according to The Des Moines Register. Mainly, he wanted to wake them up with “something different.”

He has done this by playing warning sirens and music from the film “The Purge” during workouts. He says his choices of music were meant to “psych the guys out” during workouts.

“You really hope that what you’re doing is different somehow,” Wade said. “Different is good when the wins haven’t come for the last few seasons. It needs to feel different; it needs to look different, and I think it was. I think that the guys started coming around and really responded to that.”
