Sailor to Take NATA Helm

Congratulations to Scott Sailor, EdD, ATC, Athletic Training Program Coordinator at Fresno State University, who has been elected the next NATA President. Sailor will begin his term in June 2015, taking over for current President Jim Thornton, MS, ATC, CES.
When he was asked by the NATA News for a reaction on his election, Sailor said:

“It feels amazing! It probably hasn’t completely hit me yet. As a young athletic trainer, I remember being in an elevator with two past presidents and not having the nerve to introduce myself because I had so much admiration for them. I can’t even believe that I will be one of those people.”

Back in 2005, T&C caught up with Sailor and other veteran athletic trainers–including Bill Prentice, Jenny Moshack, Rod Walters, Maria Hutsick, and former NATA President Marjorie Albohm–for a roundtable discussion on topics in athletic training. The group offered advice on avoiding burnout, interacting with higher-ups, time management, and how to make sure the job remains fun.
