May 12, 2015Inside the Browns’ High-Tech New Weightroom
Walk into the Cleveland Browns’ weightroom and you’ll find one of the most high-tech facilities in the NFL. Highlighting this technology is the Elite Form System, which utilizes 3-D motion sensors and infrared cameras to track and record individual player movements at every lifting station. The system allows coaches to gather movement analysis data and direct players to make movement–or effort–modifications when necessary.
“It gives instant feedback to the player on if he’s doing what he’s supposed to, whether he needs to put more effort in or less effort – or if we need to change the exercise,” Cleveland Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Paul Ricci told ClevelandBrowns.com. “It’s terrific, instant feedback.”
There are also video boards throughout the weightroom that track which players are lifting most explosively.
“It takes a lot of the coaching out and guys are self-motivated,” Ricci said. “We encourage guys to go faster to be more explosive. Now, they have instant feedback.”
