A Strong Start

During a recent trip to the East Coast, Will Greenberg, Southern Utah University’s new Strength and Conditioning Coach, took time to visit as many other schools’ weightrooms as possible. Rather than spending the time relaxing, he thought it would be a good chance to network and find out how other schools’ programs are run, as reported by The Spectrum.

He visited college weightrooms at Temple, Delaware, Princeton, Rutgers, Army, American, George Washington, and Villanova, and also talked with strength staff at the Philadelphia 76ers.

“I wanted to see what they did and how they did it,” Greenberg said. “I wanted to network with them, get information from them and see how they build a culture. Just learn from their experiences.”

Greenberg started at Southern Utah in March and led the football team through spring workouts. The players are singing his praises.

“As soon as he came in, he took control,” running back Jarom Healey told The Spectrum. “He has that leadership ability to come in and say this is what we are doing, just listen and do what you’re told. It’s worked really well, everyone has really responded well to it. He doesn’t take crap from anyone and he knows what he’s doing.”
